Agreement to Terms
By accessing our website or engaging our tailoring services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
Services Description
Finch & Co. Tailors provides bespoke tailoring, custom shirt making, and alteration services. All services are provided at our Victoria, BC atelier unless otherwise arranged.
Appointments and Consultations
- Initial consultations are complimentary and without obligation
- Fitting appointments should be scheduled in advance
- We request 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling
- Repeated no-shows may affect future booking privileges
Orders and Deposits
Bespoke Garments
- A 50% deposit is required to begin work on bespoke orders
- The balance is due upon completion, before collection
- Deposits are non-refundable once fabric has been cut
- We reserve the right to retain completed garments until full payment is received
Alterations
- Payment is due upon collection of altered garments
- Garments left for alteration must be collected within 30 days of completion notice
- Storage fees may apply to garments not collected within 30 days
Pricing
Prices quoted are estimates based on initial assessment. Final pricing may vary based on:
- Fabric selection and availability
- Additional details or customizations requested
- Complexity of alterations discovered during work
We will communicate any significant price variations before proceeding with additional work.
Timelines
We provide estimated completion times in good faith. However, bespoke tailoring is a craft-based service, and timelines may vary based on:
- Fabric availability and sourcing
- Complexity of the work
- Fitting requirements
- Workshop schedule
We do not guarantee specific completion dates but will communicate proactively about any significant delays.
Fittings
- Bespoke orders typically require 2-3 fitting appointments
- Fittings are included in the quoted price
- Additional fittings beyond those included may incur charges
- We recommend wearing appropriate undergarments and shoes similar to those you'll wear with the finished garment
Fit and Satisfaction
We are committed to your satisfaction and will work diligently to achieve the best possible fit. However:
- Minor variations in fit are normal in bespoke tailoring and may be addressed at fittings
- Significant body changes between fittings may require additional adjustments at extra cost
- We cannot be responsible for fit issues resulting from inaccurate information provided by the client
Pattern Storage
We keep your personal pattern on file for future orders. This pattern remains our property but is maintained for your convenience. You may request deletion of your pattern at any time.
Care and Maintenance
We provide care instructions with all completed garments. We are not responsible for damage caused by:
- Improper care or cleaning
- Normal wear and tear
- Accidents or misuse
- Alterations performed by other parties
Alterations to Non-Finch & Co. Garments
When altering garments not made by us:
- We assess and advise on alteration feasibility but cannot guarantee results
- We are not responsible for limitations in the original garment's construction
- Pre-existing damage or wear issues are the client's responsibility
- We will communicate concerns before proceeding with work
Cancellations and Refunds
Before Work Begins
Orders may be cancelled with a full refund before fabric is cut or work begins.
After Work Begins
Once fabric has been cut or alteration work has begun:
- Deposits are non-refundable
- Client is responsible for costs incurred to date
- Partially completed garments may be released to the client upon payment for work performed
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Finch & Co. Tailors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, designs, and branding, is the property of Finch & Co. Tailors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without permission.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
