The craft
The Bespoke Process
Bespoke tailoring is more than made-to-measure. It's a unique pattern created for your body, construction methods perfected over centuries, and a personal relationship with your tailor. Here's what to expect.
The Consultation
30 minutes
Your bespoke journey begins with a complimentary, no-obligation consultation. We'll discuss your style preferences, intended use for the garment, and budget. You'll have the opportunity to explore our fabric collection - British and Italian wools, Irish linens, and premium cotton shirtings.
- Discuss your style, needs, and budget
- Explore fabric options and swatches
- Take preliminary measurements
- Review style details and options
- No pressure, no obligation
Pattern Drafting
1-2 weeks
This is where bespoke differs from made-to-measure. Rather than adjusting an existing pattern, David creates a unique paper pattern specifically for your body. Every curve, every angle, every measurement is captured in a pattern that will be kept on file for your future orders.
- Unique paper pattern created for your body
- 30+ measurements taken
- Pattern kept on file for future orders
- Fabric cut by hand
- Initial garment assembled (basted)
First Fitting
Week 2-3
The moment of truth - you'll try on your garment for the first time. At this stage, it's held together with basting stitches, allowing us to make adjustments. We'll refine the fit, adjust the balance, and discuss any final style details.
- Try on the basted garment
- Assess fit and balance
- Make adjustment marks
- Discuss style details
- Plan for second fitting
Construction
Week 3-5
With the fit refined, construction begins in earnest. The canvas interlining is shaped and attached, hand-stitching is applied where it counts most, and the garment begins to take its final form. This is the heart of Savile Row craftsmanship.
- Full canvas construction
- Hand-padded lapels
- Hand-sewn buttonholes
- Precision finishing
- Quality control at every step
Second Fitting
Week 5-6
A final check before completion. The garment is now largely finished, and this fitting allows us to verify that all adjustments have been made correctly. Minor refinements may still be made at this stage.
- Near-complete garment fitting
- Final adjustments if needed
- Confirm style details
- Schedule collection date
Collection
Week 6-8
Your garment is complete. We'll do a final try-on to ensure everything is perfect, provide care instructions, and celebrate the completion of a truly unique piece. Your pattern remains on file, making future orders faster and easier.
- Final fitting and handover
- Care instructions provided
- Pattern stored for future orders
- Begin planning your next piece
